Lisbeth Witthøfft Nielsen PhD.-student, Research assistant
Lisbeth W. Nielsen is the Danish representative in the BIOTETHED project. This project is the successor of EU funded project Bio-T-Ethics (2002-2005).
In 2001-2001 she participated in the preparation of a research report to the Danish National Consumer Agency, dealing with implementation of ethical concerns and principles within national law and European regulations on genetic engineering applied to the plants and foods area. Lisbeth has a Master Degree in theology from the University of Copenhagen (2001). She is currently finishing a PhD in bioethics on the topic "The concept of nature and its role in ethical debate on new gene technologies". The PhD is carried out at Centre for Ethics and Law/ Institute of Educational Philosophy at the Danish University of Education. Lisbeth has been carry out additional studies at CERSES, Centre de Recherche Sens, Éthique et Société, INRA, Paris (2002, Autumn) and at Centre for Studies in Religion and Society, University of Victoria, Canada (This stay was granted by the EU-project "Coastal Inquiries") (2003, spring). In January 2006 Lisbeth W. Nielsen was appointed to a position as a research assistant at Centre for Ethics in Medicine, University of Bristol, where she is currently managing the EU funded project ENHANCE (see www.enhanceproject.org).
