Brunetto Chiarelli Professor of Anthropology
Brunetto Chiarelli degree in Natural Sciences (1957) and Biological Sciences (1961), University of Florence. Associate professor of Anthropology, University of Turin 1961-1969. Full professor of Anthropology from 1969 to 1979, University of Turin, and 1979 up to now, University of Florence. From 1962 to 1979 he was director of the Institute and Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography at the University of Turin. He is author of about 450 scientific publications including 13 books concerning problems of genetics, cytogenetics, primate taxonomy and evolution, the biology of present and past human populations and of Global bioethics. In 1972 he founded and edited the Journal of Human Evolution for 14 years with the London Academic Press at present for the International Institute for the Study of Man he is editing tree journals Human Evolution, International Journal of Anthropology and Global Bioethics a specific journal dealing with the Human Impact in Nature.

Achievements
Teaching Biotechnological Bioethics in Perugia and in Florence. Editorial coordinator for the production of the journal ”Global Bioethics’. Laboratory research on ancient DNA. The laboratory is fully equipped for analysis of sequences of prehistoric or heavy damaged samples of DNA. The security procedures of contamination are therefore object of specific consideration.
